“Art, for me, is a reflection of our surroundings, an insight into our state of mind at a point in time. It is an amalgamation of experiences and training, an outpouring of energy, a release of emotion and obsessions.
Sukeshi Sondhi was born in India, educated globally, and eventually settled in Singapore. She was trained in pencil and charcoal drawing, still life and representational oils with palette knife and brush work, contemporary abstracts with acrylic, mixed media and pop art silk screen.
Sukeshi's current focus has been on Asian pop art and Abstraction. Her latest exhibition, “Urban Hues” is a collection of mixed media abstract works delving into the cityscape and landscape.
The ongoing series, “An Icon and a Legend”, a tribute to Mr Lee Kuan Yew on his 90th birthday is executed in the Andy Warhol pop art style, which has drawn interest far and wide.
Sukeshi's works have been exhibited at solo and group art shows as well as at Art Walk at Wessex Fair (2012), and Affordable Art Fair (2012-13) in Singapore. She has also donated her paintings to at the Magic Bus Charity Gala and UN Women's SNOW Gala Auctions. Her works have also been commissioned and acquired by corporates and private collectors in Singapore, New Delhi, New York, Mumbai and Paris.
