  • Artist Story
  • Jimin Han received her MFA in Printmaking from Sungshin Women’s University and BFA in the same major from Sejong University. Han continues her exploration into the theme of totemism in her works, striving to express desire that since ancient times, humans have sought to share extraordinary abilities with superior beings that worship. Based on her own childhood memories about birds she raised, Han chooses a bird as her personal totem. Her works reflect her own desire to break away from unconscious fear and anxiety about other people.

She has had solo exhibitions at Gallery EM (Seoul) in 2013, Selo Art Space (Seoul), Ujung Art Center (Seoul) and Gallery DOS (Seoul) in 2012, and Gallery S101 (Seoul) in 2011. She has been included in important group shows at a variety of museums and galleries, including Samwon Paper Gallery (Seoul) in 2013, Culture Station Seoul 284 (Seoul) in 2012, Hong-Ik Museum of Art (Seoul) in 2011, Sejong Art Gallery (Seoul) in 2007, and Gana Art Center (Seoul) in 2006. Han also participated in Nivosibirsk Print Triennial (Russia) in 2014 and Drawing Biennale (Heyri) in 2013.
