Noise K
Steve Chua
Memories which people hold so dear on to are often evoked with images. For Steve however, his reminiscence materialises from his auditory senses. Growing up in the 80s, the traditional coffee shops and hawker centres became his happy places. His idea of fun was to wander around in these “play- grounds”, relishing in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The chop-chopping beat of the hawker’s cleaver coupled with the cacophony of the gossips played out like a symphony in his mind. This buzz, while unnoticed by others, were simply “music” to his ears. Using noise as an inspiration, see as Steve renders his acoustic sensory into works of art.
