Anniketyni Madian
The spirit of “My Adidas” were inspired from my daily life and the metaphor of Pua Kumbu too. Pua Kumbu is a hand-woven ikat textile cloth woven by the Dayak-women which incorporated with lifecycle ritual & ceremonial by the Iban Culture. Pua Kumbu is representing me as a sarawakian in this artworks. In response, to adapting the Pua Kumbu motif element, I carefully constructs and carved each pattern design accurately into technically elegant lines and came out with dynamically intricate details on three dimensional body of work integrating both combination of geometrical, designs brand and organic shapes creates a smooth flow to the whole representation of the works.
I managed to transformed and simplify nature wood-base medium in “My Adidas” artworks to another level perspective of the norm woodworking production and creates multiple possibilities wood working progress through continuous exploration, discovery, experimenting and studies each types of wood material & concept I am working with.
